Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a martial art focused on ground fighting and grappling. It emphasizes using leverage and technique, rather than strength, to control or submit opponents. BJJ teaches a variety of techniques including joint locks, chokes, sweeps, and escapes.
Practitioners progress through a belt system, starting from white belt and advancing to black belt. BJJ is renowned for its effectiveness in self-defense, its competitive sport aspect, and its ability to improve physical fitness, mental discipline, and problem-solving skills.
